Creating an EBCMX account

What you need to sign up, and what happens immediately after.

You need a working email address and a password. There is no social sign-in — no third-party identity provider stands between you and your account, so the credentials you set are the only way in.

Signing up

  1. Open the sign-up page and enter your email address and a password.
  2. We email you a verification link. Open it to confirm the address is yours.
  3. Sign in. A spot account is created for you automatically, so you can hold balances straight away.

On every sign-up attempt, including one you abandon, we check that the email domain you typed can actually receive mail. We check the domain against public DNS only — the part before the @ is never sent to a resolver.

What to do next

Before you fund the account, turn on a second factor and consider the Global Settings Lock. Both are in Settings under Security, and both are far easier to set up before there is a balance to protect than after.
